I was born and raised in a family temple in central China and grew up learning traditional Chinese crafts with my grandmother. During my undergraduate studies, I started my own craft studio, where I worked with like-minded people to research and innovate some of Asia's endangered traditional crafts.
The logic of many dying crafts can be used to solve many problems in modern life. During my postgraduate studies, I have been working on Asian bamboo weaving and applying the logic of this craft to the recycling of threads in the production of fabrics, as well as solving the problem of material waste in the production of 3D fabrics.
I would like to use the festival as an opportunity to present my current research findings, to seek more collaborations with the community, to bring the value of endangered traditional crafts to the attention of more people, and to organise workshops (if the opportunity arises) to allow people to experience the unique charm of traditional crafts and the many possibilities of an environmentally friendly way of life.
